Yin to the yang. Totally high tech ninjas, motherfuckin’ big in Japan.

Die Antwoord is beyond my comprehension. At first it seemed like the spawn of some strange event wherein Diplo met up with Peabody and Sherman, took the way-back machine back to 1992 and relocated House Of Pain to South Africa. On one hand Die Antwoord reminds me of Bonde De Role, and it seems like the fluro/fidget/hipster kids will eat it up. It’s like a throwback to all the bad Vanilla Ice TMNT crossover, it’s satirical, and purposefully ridiculous. Then on the other hand, the tracks have moments of true briliance. The production is tight, the mood is fresh, and the lyricism (primaraly by Yo-Landi Vi$$er. Imagine Kylie Minogue crossed with Uffie) is a fun mix of Afrikaners, english, and childishness.

So who gives a fuck if it’s a “joke”? It’s dope!
